Outdoor Education- Kootenay Pass Trip

Selkirk Grade 10-12 Outdoor Education students had three amazing days at Kootenay Pass. The student’s experienced winter travel in the mountains, sleeping outside as well as practicing their avalanche safety skills. The back-country is a rich learning environment- there were so many experiences that provided challenges and opportunities for personal growth. New friendships were made and many students learned how capable they are of overcoming challenges.

Each year, as part of a continuous improvement cycle, Rocky Mountain School District develops an operational plan that outlines the goals and strategies that will be the focus of the work for the upcoming year. This plan is guided by the current 4-year strategic plan using a variety of student data as the foundation for decision making, schools develop school success plans that identifies targets for improving student learning.
